Teaser Tuesday - Zombified

Hey guys!

It's that time again; Teaser Tuesday! This time I picked a never before seen snippet from an unreleased chapter of Into the Darkness. Enjoy.

The biter came out of nowhere. Ike went for it out of habit but a voice rose up out of Rian I wasn’t expecting then. “No,” she said firmly. “Let me do it.”

She had taken us all by surprise, judging by the matching expressions we were all wearing.
“Are you sure?” Ike asked, his eyes planted firmly on me for approval.

I had known this time would come, I just hadn’t been expecting it so soon…

I nodded my head hesitantly knowing there was no way to go back at this point. In the new world we were living in, it was inevitable this day would come.

The biter looked worse for wear. Its skin was greying and decaying. His right arm had been severed from his body and was hanging by mere tendons.

The smell perforating off him was enough to make anyone sick, yet was something we had grown accustomed to.

“The head is the money spot,” Ike whispered as the biter slowly approached. “Just like we practiced.”

I looked up at Ike then, expectantly. Practiced? How long had Ike been secretly training her behind my back? How long had I been wrapped up in my losses to realize?

I winced as Rian brought the bat down hard again and again, smashing in the biters skull. I found myself wondering who he had been before all of this; a teacher? A grocer? A mail man? It didn’t really matter anymore, but it helped keep my sickness at bay.

My Forever is...PUBLISHED!

Yes. You heard me right. My Forever is published and available on Amazon, Createspace, and Smashwords! And yes, I did it all myself. And no, it was not easy and definitely time consuming. However, I am so ecstatic that the first book I ever wrote over twelve years ago is finally getting it's footing.

Prior to deciding to publish it had been through multiple rounds of beta readers and plenty of comments and feedback from it being on Wattpad. I am really excited for the bright future ahead of Madalynne and Parker and can't wait to see their love soar.

I would love all the support and feedback I can get.

Much love. <3 p="">

Teaser Tuesday (Belated) - My Forever

Hello!

I decided to do something a little bit different with this teaser Tuesday post. I decided to focus on one of the minor characters from My Forever, who will go on to be the main character in Beautifully Broken, the second book in the Infinite Love series. I think it will help give a little insight into who he is. Enjoy!

Lee
I never intended it to go this far. I could tell she was falling for me, and hard, with every bat of her lashes, wink from her eyes. I wasn’t the relationship type, and honestly, I had never given it much thought. I was always much more of a thrill seeker; never putting roots down in any one place for too long.

Thats how we met, I was arriving home after months abroad back packing across South America. I was headed home for a little r&r before choosing my next destination. My career as a personal trainer made it virtually no feat to travel anywhere I wanted. Health was important to people from all walks of life.

I saw her sneaking glances at me, trying to be stealth. I knew she was checking me out. And given that I had spent the past ten days in silent meditation I was ready for some female attention.

Its not like I didn’t enjoy the time we spent together, I actually found myself surprised by how much fun Madalynne was; and how great of company she was. But I knew without the commitment she would never be mine. She was pure. I could tell she was inexperienced. I never wanted to take advantage of her, hurt her, or disappoint her.

I tried to keep her at a distance. But now that she was in my life, I didn’t want to lose her. I had gotten myself in a predicament I thought I could avoid. I knew with the growing time we were sure to spend together it was inevitable feelings would develop.

Since the night of our kiss I was filling my time up with replacements that could never even compare to Madalynne. But I knew I wasn’t ready for commitment; and I knew she wasn’t ready to give up her unfinished business back home, Parker. It was obvious Madalynne was not a hookup type of girl, and I was not a relationship type of guy.

I was avoiding her because I hated the awkwardness of confrontation. But her countless phone calls and messages were wearing on me. Making me feel guilty each and every time I pressed ignore to her calls.

The longer the week dragged on the more tired I became; spreading my time thin between clients, nightcaps, and drinking. The one thing I had been terrified of happening…was already in play; I liked Madalynne Johnson more than a friend, and it was either going to be the best thing in the world for me, or the worst.

You

I haven't thought about you in a long time. 136 days to be exact...but something shifted inside me today and I forced myself to read my book The Many Faces of Love--the one I wrote three chapters about you in. I felt every emotion as if I was living it today. It made me realize that I haven't felt butterflies or sparks with basically anyone since you.

How long have we been doing this dance now? Eight years?  Will I ever stop wondering 'what if?'. Will I ever fully get over you?

You were the one. I fell deep and hard for others after--but it was never the same. I mean, you married a girl with the same name as me--if that wasn't an annoying reminder I don't know what is.

I've been single for four years and haven't been willing to settle for anything other than magical. At first I thought I was just being silly. But then I began to see someone who fell for me instantly and I felt nothing. I felt tired when we kissed. I felt miserable.

I've been worried for so long that I am never going to be able to experience the passion I felt for you, the butterflies you caused me to have in the pit of my stomach, and the spark that seemed to never die. But reading that chapter and being reminded that I felt that way once has me holding out hope that after all this time...after all these punishments I can finally find someone like you again. Someone I will be anxious to see. Someone I will think the sun rises with and the moon sets with.

I doubt you'll see this. But if you ever think about me like I just thought about you--then I have faith...that someday, sometime you will read this. Hopefully it makes you smile.
