Today, I am super excited to have my friend and fellow author, Breigh Forstner here with a guest post and dream cast for her novel Straight From the Heart. She will also be answering some interview questions I had for her. My co-host Kristen from Pretty Little Pages reviewed her novel as well, so stay tuned for all of the fun that lies ahead!

This is a story about a girl discovering and experiencing life for the first time.
Bryn Schaefler grew up rich. Her parents expected the best out of her, picked her boyfriend for her, and groomed her to be the next trophy wife fresh out of High School.
But when they discover she wants to pursue music instead of following in her mothers footsteps, they wanted to hear nothing about it.
That was when Bryn left for good.
By chance, she auditioned for main stream rock band Everlasting. Never in a million years did she think she would make it.
Cale Pelton knew it was his fault for the band scrambling around to find a new guitarist. Once he saw Bryn audition, he knew he had to have her. Not just in the band, but in his mind, body and soul.
This is the first book in the Straight from the Heart series. Follow Cale and Bryn as she goes on her first tour, and discovers there's so much more to her than she ever realized.
Straight from the Heart is an amazing story with tons of heart from Breigh
Forstner. I'll admit at the beginning I was doubtful. It seemed a bit slow, but
wow. Once I sat down with this book, I was drawn in and really enjoyed the
story that Breigh shares in Straight from the Heart. The dynamic between
the characters was my favorite part and I loved seeing how the bandmates and
Bryn grew and developed. I feel like there's so much more to their stories,
especially Bryn. In the beginning, I was doubtful of her. But by the time I
finished this one, she had grown on me and I was really rooting for her.
Speaking of finishing this
book, I have one complaint. It isn't with the author or story. It's the cliffhanger!
It was brutal. I need to know more! I'm really excited about following the rest
of Bryn's story and reading more from Breigh Forstner. Already her writing
shows so much promise. I thoroughly enjoyed Straight from the Heart and
I just know that other contemporary romance fans will love it, too!
How I find time to write/my writing
process
I
am a single mom of two little girls under 4. So needless to say just that alone
keeps me busy. I usually work during the daytime 9 hours or so, so when I get
home after feeding the kids dinner and getting settled, we usually get out my
laptop (which is what I use to write.) We’ll sit on my bed or on the couch and
on one side of the screen I will have the word document I’m working out of for
my story, and on the other side will be some kind of video the kids like to
watch (right now it’s Disney Princesses.) Doing this I can usually get in
anywhere from a few hundred words to 1,000 words in a few hours. By the time
they’re in bed, I sit down, put on an album that helps me get into the writing
zone (Anything by Asking Alexandria) and write non-stop until I go to sleep. I
ALWAYS listen to music when I am writing, being that my books in the series are
about a rock band and involve music, plus depending on the songs, it gives me
inspiration for the characters I’m writing about.
1.
If you could
have coffee with any character from your novels, who would it be and why?
Probably
Damon Charming. Despite the fact that he is a womanizer, (I had Jax from Sons
of Anarchy in my mind when I wrote his character) he would be pretty
interesting to have a conversation with.
2.
At what age
did you decide you wanted to pursue a writing career?
When
I was 22 after I had my 2nd daughter. I had an idea about two best
friends falling in love and started from there.
3.
Do you
remember the first book you ever wrote? And if so, what was it about?
Yes,
it was called Forever and Always, which was the book I wrote almost a year-2
years ago. It was published on Amazon, but it was barely edited by myself, and
wasn’t promoted. After reading the proof and being completely appalled by the
writing in the book, I took it off of Amazon.
4.
Are you an
outliner or a pantser?
Pantser at
heart. I usually have an idea and I like to let it see where it takes me,
because I have a tendency to change my mind on plots or a certain character
halfway through a book.
5.
Where did you get the idea for Straight from the Heart?
First,
I like reading rocker stories, and so I thought, well what would happen if a
girl left her parents’ house and joined a rock band? And it went from there!
6. What is your favorite
social media site and why?
Definitely
Facebook. It’s a great way for Readers, authors, and bloggers to connect and
for authors to promote themselves and their work. I’m probably a part of 100 +
groups and love to read about new authors. I also connect with my family this
way too.
7.
Who is your favorite character from your Straight from the Heart series and
why?
Lucy because she’s badass and
doesn’t take crap from anybody.
8. Your Straight from
the Heart series is about a girl pursuing music. Are you a musician? Or simply
a lover of music?
I
am a musician sort of. I love to play acoustic guitar and took classes in high
School, but recently stopped playing. And yes I am a huge lover of music!! I
love going to concerts, listening to new bands, and rocking out in my car on my
way to work.
9. What would you say
has been your biggest success since you began writing?
People actually liking my author
page and telling me how much they liked my book!
10. What gives you inspiration?
Reading other books and real life
experiences.
Breigh Forstner currently lives in Southeast Michigan
with her 2 daughters. Working as a customs broker by day and author by night,
she writes anytime she can get it in. She's also a sucker for bad boys, high
school jocks and rockers that can play an instrument! Breigh is the author of
the Straight from the Heart series, with book two (From My Heart) being released
November 24th.
